Primitive costal hydatid cyst: exceptional hydatid localization
Journal Title: JOURNAL OF FUNCTIONAL VENTILATION AND PULMONOLOGY - Year 2019, Vol 10, Issue 30
Abstract
Hydatid pathology is a public health problem in several countries. Typically, the involvement is in the hepatic or / and pulmonary level; however, it can reach any tissue or organ of the human body, which makes it necessary to think of the diagnosis whatever the sign of appeal. We report the case of a primitive costal localization of the hydatid cyst, evolving over years, in a patient taking from rural areas. Despite the evolution and improvement of the means of prevention and diagnosis, hydatid pathology is more and more diagnosed. The original costal localization is exceptional, but it must be evoked before any cystic mass of the isolated chest wall in endemic zone. By its discrete clinical symptomatology, it poses a delicate problem of diagnosis. The treatment is medico-surgical. Prevention is still necessary, especially in endemic areas.
