Abstract
The article is devoted to the general review of the principles as tools by which the European Court of Human Rights interprets the provisions of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of 1950. Approaches to understanding these or other provisions are illustrated by the example of specific decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. Accented the urgent need for study and widespread use of these principles in the national legal process.
