Principles of systematization of social and political interlexemes

Abstract

The linguistic science is touched by globalization which is confirmed to a great extent by the fact of a constant increase of a great number of international words. The internationalisms in their turn cause a great interest of linguists to the language of internationalization. This article is dedicated to the social and political interlexemes division due to its semantic structure. Several approaches to social and political interlexemes classifications were proposed. They touch the sphere of interlexemes function and the changes of semantic meaning of the international vocabulary. The article’s aim is the analysis of available semantic classifications of social-political interlexemes and particularities or its lexical filling in the English, French and Ukrainian languages. 503 triads of internationalisms of explanatory dictionaries of the above mentioned languages were the exploring material. The internationalisms are words which exist in different languages, in near related and far related ones. Their characteristics are an identical or a close meaning, preservation in most cases of pronunciation and of orthography. The interlexemes were classified by structural features and semantic particularities. Due to semantic particularities social and political interlexemes are divided into monosemantic (only one meaning) and polysemantic interlexemes (with two or more lexico-semantic varieties). The analysis of social and political interlexemes permitted to classify them into monosemantic and polysemantic interlexemes. Polysemantic interlexemes (86.26%) prevail over monosemantic ones (10.74%). The biggest and the smallest (by size) of polysemantic and monosemantic social and political interlexemes were described. Relative Full Semantic Community of the interlexemes with identical structures in monosemantic and few polysemantic groups was defined and Incomplete Semantic Community in triads with identical and different semantic structures was described. As a conclusion, the article mentions that polysemantic interlexemes prevail over monosemantic interlexemes. Research of Incomplete Semantic Community and changes of the meanings of social and political interlexemes in English, French and Ukrainian languages are still perspective.
