Prioritizing four methods and Presenting a combination method for determining black spots using Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP)

Abstract
Our country experiences significant statistics of casualties and financial damages caused by car accidents. In order to reduce damages and harms caused by accidents, the critical and black spots must be identified. Different models and procedures are usually employed in detecting black spots; among which, one may note methods such as frequency of accidents, rate of accidents, intensity of accidents and accidents intensity-rate. The present study has used the hierarchy analysis method as well as the opinions of experts and specialists for prioritizing and weighing the four methods and in conclusion, based on the final weights of AHP model, a combination of the four methods in detecting black spot the amount of its effectiveness of each has been considered per its effectiveness weight. This combined method could serve as an approach to a more careful and comprehensive identification of black spots in the country.the combined method has a better average and balanced status than other methods, the reasons of which are because of considering the entire information in the four concerned methods based on their importance degree from specialists and experts’ views in this area.
