Abstract
Appropriate road maintenance guarantees a safe and comfortable traffic on the transport network. Entities in charge of road maintenance in Poland are: the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) - managing national roads, the Board of Regional Roads - provincial roads, District Board - county roads, municipal roads - the mayor, the voyt, the commune administrator. The article presents the problem of road maintenance during winter time, on the example of selected municipality in the province of Lublin. Selected aspects of road maintenance in the technical and legal field in Poland were presented.
