PROBLEMS AND DIRECTIONS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MARKET OF AVIATION TRANSPORT OF UKRAINE

Abstract
Transport is one of the most important components of the economic system of any country, the uninterrupted work of which is a prerequisite for the formation and development of market relations. The airline market has the fastest growth rates from all modes of transport. This is due to increased mobility of the population, the development of national and international tourism, the growth of business activity of enterprises and visa-free regime. In such circumstances, the problem of assessing the state, development prospects and problems of air transportation is actualized. The main objective of the paper is to assess the state of the air transport market in Ukraine, its key issues and directions of development. The article assesses the market for air transportation in Ukraine, namely passenger, freight and mail. Comparison and ana lysis of statistics over the last few years. The emphasis is on key issues of aviation transportation in Ukraine and priority directions of development are provided. Estimated figures for the end of 2018 and 2030 relative to 2017 are also provided. The problems of the aviation industry are identified, however, to overcome them and create competitive advantages that will contribute to strengthening the position on the world market, increase profitability, attract investment, develop technological base, priority development directions for Ukraine are: creation of international consortia with the participation of leading transnational corporations; organization of joint ventures; long-term cooperation; cross-border mergers and acquisitions; state support. The prospect of aviation industry development is the consolidation of aviation enterprises within the framework of powerful structures, which is typical for aviation complexes of developed countries. In addition, an effective step is to privatize a part of the state aviation complex enterprises in order to increase the profitability and investment and innovation activity of enterprises. Privatization will allow overcoming such disadvantages of government as a monopoly and lack of competitive business conditions, lack of incentives for profit earning, limited funding, misuse of funds. Another priority of development should be the policy of the leading Ukrainian airlines, aimed at integrating domestic and international flights. The practical implementation of the abovementioned measures will enable to ensure the further progressive development of the aviation complex of Ukraine, establish close social and economic interrelations with other countries, expand potential markets for Ukrainian aircraft-building production, ensure the participation of domestic enterprises in the implementation of foreign projects, and take a worthy place in the global competitive environment of air transport services.
