Problems and Optimization Suggestions for Metro Interval Evacuation Design under Flood Conditions
Journal Title: Urban Mass Transit - Year 2024, Vol 27, Issue 9
Abstract
Objective Evacuation in metro interval under flood conditions is often overlooked in metro engineering design. Besides, currently there are no industry standards for such scenarios. Attention should be paid to this issue, and design optimization measures should be proposed. Method Relevant provisions in some Chinese standards regarding metro interval evacuation are listed and analyzed. 5 typical interval evacuations scenarios under flood conditions are selected and corresponding evacuation strategies are proposed. An analysis on existing problems in metro interval evacuation under flood conditions is conducted. Design optimization suggestions are put forward to address problems under certain specific working conditions such as the difficulty in determining the evacuation direction, the blocking of evacuation platform by floods, and the poor connection between stations. Result & Conclusion The proposed design optimization suggestions can not only meet the fire evacuation requirements specified in the regulations and standards, but also solve the existing problems under flood conditions, improving the feasibility and safety of interval evacuation under flood conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
