Продовольчий інтерес: поняття категорії та необхідність наукового використання

Abstract
The article deals with the necessity of introducing socio-economic category “food interest” into scientific circulation. The idea according to which the protection of food interests of citizens is the content of food security is substantiated. One of the most important properties of such nature is the internal contradiction. Economic interests, including food interests, develop through the constant internal struggle and conflict. We found that all contradictions can be divided into two groups – objective and subjective. The nature of objective contradictions in food interests is that food security is a public good. First of all, it is willingness of a buyer to pay the market price to have ownership of food products. The nature of subjective contradictions in food interests is much more complicated. Since it depends on more factors, among which is upbringing based on family traditions. Protecting food interests is the content of food security of a country, region and individual household. The household is the most vulnerable side of food interests. At the same time, when implementing the state policy of ensuring food security, restrictive measures can be applied which are able to restrict freedom of entrepreneurship to some extent, reduce profitability of operating activities and complicate the organizational and economic mechanism of the economic activity. In this case, firms-agricultural producers, intermediary organizations, food industry enterprises, exporters, importers and others will have losses in the form of shortfall in profits and increase in the payback period of investments. First of all, the medium-term goal of development of our country is improvement of social standards of life. Among these standards the protection of food interests is included in the list of key tasks. The mechanism of interaction of economic interests in the food market of Ukraine is complex due to the presence of direct and indirect links and the opposite of interests in terms of content and form of implementation. Since economic interests are a form of manifestation of certain needs, we can assume that the economic form of manifestation of the human need for food is the food interest. We believe that the food interest is the interest of an individual or a group of individuals to meet their own need for safe high-quality food necessary for existence and healthy livelihoods through market exchange, self-help or help.
