Abstract
The article analyses the main approaches for studying a professional career of personality There are marked the main kinds of the professional career of personality in the article such as: “vertical”, “ascending”, “descending”, “horizontal”, “centrifugal” and others. The following article also proves that the professional career performs several important functions in the life of every person. Such functions can be subdivided into three main groups: socio-professional, socio-psychological, socio-economical.
