PROGNOSIS OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HEPATITIS C TREATMENT WITH INTERFERON-BASED REGIMENS AND SEARCH FOR PREDICTORS OF STABLE VIRAL RESPONSE IN HIV-INFECTED PATIENTS

Abstract
Th e aim of this study was to improve the effi cacy of interferon-based therapy of hepatitis C in HIV-infected patients by identifying the main predictors of achieving a sustained virologic response. Negative predictors of achieving a sustained virologic response of interferon-based therapy in HIV-infected patients with 1 genotype HCV were: absence of virologic response during the 4th week of treatment (rS = -0.564, p = 0.000), alcohol abuse (rS = -0.290, p = 0.086), thrombocytopenia (rS = -0.378, p = 0.023) and fi brosis F4 (rS = -0.290, p = 0.086).
