Journal Title: Psychiatry, Neurology and Medical Psychology - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
The authors have analyzed the state of the cognitive functions in patients with Parkinson’s disease (50 patients aged 31 to 75 years). The article provides data from literature on epidemiology, structure, and character of disorder of the cognitive functions in patients with Parkinson’s disease, examines the main pathogenic factors of development of mild and moderate disorders of cognitive functions, methods of diagnostics and their evaluation. The authors provide the results of their own studies of the infl uence of Pronoran therapy (prescribed dose 50 mg during 6 months) on the dynamics of the cognitive functions. The results of the therapy were evaluated with the help of special questionnaires and scales (concise scale for evaluation of the mental status, test battery for evaluation of frontal disfunction, Matisse’s scale of demention etc.; the original screening scale is provided). In patients with Parkinson’s disease, mild and moderate disorders of the cognitive functions occur with roughly equal rate and diagnosability, whereas against the background of the 6-month Pronoran admission signifi cant improvement of neuropsychological testing results is observed.
