Abstract
Increasingly the burden of the existing High-Speed Rail lines and the dynamic economic development of urban agglomerations and entire regions, necessitates the need for new connections. Creating a High-Speed Rail connection network streamlines the flow of passengers, thus becoming a competitive factor in the transport market. By creating new connections, High-Speed Rail is a big competition for road and air transport in terms of travel time, driving comfort and safety. The above analysis is based on the example of France, which has the most developed High-Speed Rail network in Europe.
