Abstract
Use of traction synchronous generators on diesel locomotives allows for development of alternating-current electric transmissions without traction inverters and for increasing technical and economic performance of locomotives. A description of the schematics and characteristics of an electric transmission consisting of an asynchronous traction generator and asynchronous traction ring motors was presented. In this case, one of each pair of motors has a rotary stator, and both motors are designed as a single assembly.
