Abstract
False heath fritillary Melitaea diamina (Lang, 1789) (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae) in Western Sudety Mts. – rediscovered after half a century break The paper presents a new locality of the false heath fritillary Melitaea diamina (Lang, 1789) in the Karkonosze Mts, discovered in 2016. Historic neighbouring records are listed and past and present management ways at the locality are discussed. Plant and butterfly species associated with the locality are recorded, including possible host plants and nectar sources. Past protection problems and future management requirements are emphasised, with reestablishment of extensive grazing and mowing along with keeping high ground water level as the most effective way of habitat conservation.
