Abstract
The need to use more environmentally-friendly transport modes to meet the growing needs for freight delivery is unques-tioned. However, its practical implementation, especially in city logistics, faces many difficulties. The article discusses or-ganizational solutions improving intermodal transport in the USA and presents concepts and examples of using rail transport to handle logistics in cities.
