Pseudomonas monteilii an Emerging Pathogen in Meningoencephalitis

Journal Title: Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research - Year 2018, Vol 12, Issue 4

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas monteilii (P. monteilii) is a gram negative, rod shaped, nonsporing, motile, non-fermenting bacterium belonging to family Pseudomonadaceae. It is a known environmental contaminant, has been seen as an emerging opportunistic pathogen and is closely related to Pseudomonas putida. We isolated this organism from a young immunocompetent patient with meningoencephalitis, who despite of treatment had a fatal outcome.
