Pseudothyroid dysfunction in clinical practice: how to avoid diagnostic errors

Abstract
The lecture provides modern information about euthyroid sick syndrome (non-thyroidal illness syndrome). Data are presented on the possible causes and mechanisms of thyroid homeostasis disorders under various physiological and pathological conditions. The possible types of pseudothyroid dysfunction are identified and characterized. The issues of diagnostic features, differential diagnosis are revealed and prospects for the treatment of non-thyroidal illness syndrome are outlined.
