Abstract
The article deals with the psycholinguistic characteristic of a maniac as a fiction character considering such parameters as sentence length, coefficient of lexical diversity, coefficient of aggression and embolus coefficient. The research is based on Thomas Harris’s novel «The Silence of the lambs» and Stephen King’s novel «Misery».
