Psychological and pedagogical aspect of continuity in the study of mathematics in fourth and fifth classes

Abstract

The article analyzes the state and trends of the development problem of continuity in the study of mathematics in the fourth and fifth classes of the general school. Ensuring continuity is one of the main conditions successful adaptation of junior pupils to stady in the secondary school and an important prerequisite for successful study in the 5th class. In this regard, characterized typical difficulties of the adaptation period of pupils at the transition stage from elementary to secondary school and developed methodical recommendations for their elimination in the study of mathematics. On the basis comparative analysis of the curric-ulum in mathematics for the 4th and 5th grades, definited the didactic peculiarities of the formation of the main components of mathematical competence of the fourth-graders and the five-grades according to the content lines. Indicated consistent mecha-nism for the formation of computing skills, abilities to solve to solve simple and composed plot tasks, study material geometric pupils 4th and 5th classes.
