Psychological maladjustment of volunteers involved in the provision of military forces in a combat zone: mechanisms of formation and psychocorrection

Abstract
The purpose of the work was to study the clinical and psychological manifestations and mechanisms for the formation of maladjustment in volunteers, whose activities are related to the provision of military personnel in the area of combat operations, and the development of a program of measures for its psycho-correction on this basis. Using the clinical psychological and psychodiagnostic methods, 147 volunteers engaged in the provision of military personnel in the combat zone for at least 1 year, were examined. It is proved that volunteering activity has potential risks of developing maladaptation states which are more common among volunteers compared to the usual sample. It was established that the formation and progressive development of psychological maladaptation in volunteers involved a number of factors, classified by depending on their role, as deadaptive-axial, deadaptive-patoplastic and desadaptive-configuring. On the basis of the obtained data, a psycho-correction program which proved its effectiveness has been created.
