PSYCHOLOGICAL PORTRAIT OF CANCER PATIENTS. TRANSACTIONAL APPROACH

Journal Title: Молодий вчений - Year 2018, Vol 10, Issue 62

Abstract

The article is focused on the study of the psychological portrait of cancer patients, cancer patients in remission and carcinophobic persons. In total, factor analysis showed that a cancer patient behaves as a Victim, prone to escape into fantasy, has difficulties with the realization of own emotions and needs and is unable to rest because of the desire for perfection and fear not to manage to achieve it. Comparative analysis revealed that for the cure it is important to experience dissatisfaction with life with the disease and to accept the fight and persecution of the disease. The significance of body-oriented practices, together with pharmacological treatment, has been revealed. In order to prevent cancer it is important to take real life as it is, get rid of the role of the Victim, learn to understand and express emotions and desires directly, accept oneself as a "good enough", create sympathy for oneself, learn to maintain balance between work and rest, as well as to develop a habit to "flirt with life".
