PSYCHOSOCIAL IMPACT OF FLOOD ON CHILDRENA QUALITATIVE STUDY

Abstract
Abstract To assess the psychological impact offlood on children. Material : 50 children who are survivors of Hood participated in the focus group discussions (FGD) where the immediate psychological impact and needs were assessed. The framework approach was used to analyze the data. Discussion The children expressed clearly physical and psychological symptoms in the form of increased palpitation, panic, and inability to sleep and fear when they think offlood incident. Conclusion This study clearly highlighted the need for integration of the mental health intervention to reduce the emotional distress of children who are survivors of flood in India.
