Quantitative and qualitative indicators of the people smuggling across the state border of Ukraine

Abstract
This article explores the main parameters of crimes, the responsibility for which is provided in Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, determined by summarizing the information contained in the archival materials of criminal cases examines by courts of Ukraine throughout 2008–2018. The author examines the absolute indicators about the number of such crimes registered on the territory of Ukraine, the number of criminal proceedings examined under art. 332 of the Criminal Code by the courts of Ukraine for the last 5 years, as well as establishes basic information concerning the persons convicted under this article and displays the characteristic features inherent in their criminal acts. It is established that such crimes, due to the location of Ukraine on the transit routes between the Russian Federation and the countries of the European Union, are predominantly peculiar only to some from the border regions of the state, along which routes for the transportation of migrants from the countries of Asia and Africa lie. At the same time, the author draws attention to the especially high latency of the human smuggling, as a result of which the above indicators mostly reflect the state of registration and registration activities of competent state bodies than give an opportunity to affirm certainly the real situation in this sphere of unlawful relations. The article describes some factors that influence the dynamics of crimes under art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
