QUARTZ–BASED PYROELECTRIC SENSOR

Abstract

Tertiary pyroelectric effect under spatially inhomogeneous heating conditions is considered in the paper. It is proposed to create pyroelectric devices based on different crystallographic сuts of quartz for laser radiation monitoring in the visible and near–IR spectral regions. Quartz crystal belonging to nonpolar piezoelectric class has great potential for use in pyroelectric sensors offering a high transmission and high resistance to radiation in specified ranges.
