Journal Title: Scientific Journal of the Military University of Land Forces - Year 2014, Vol 172, Issue 2

Abstract

In the paper, the author presents the organization of radio communication established by the intelligence divisions of the front staffs and partisan staffs in the final years of World War II. As an introduction, in the first part of the paper, the author presents the draft of the Soviet fronts organization and the organization of the intelligence divisions of the front staffs, as well as the intelligence divisions of partisan staffs. The paper also shows the organizational structure of communication nodes, their equipment and the description of communication equipment. The source literature consists of archival materials of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff of the Polish Army, as well as documents from the Polish Partisan Staff and the Base for Material and Technical Supply under the Supreme Commander of the Polish Ar-my for the troops behind enemy lines, which was created in the process of transforming the Polish Partisan Staff. The source literature also includes historical literature and personal accounts. Based on the fact that the aforementioned institutions were organized according to the plan of the General Staff of the Red Army, the author assumes that the organization of the intelligence divisions in all front staffs of the Red Army and in the partisan staffs between the year 1943 and the end of the War was identical, or similar, and that it was based on the same organizational plan.
