RATING LONG-TERM USE OF SIMPLIFICATIONS IN TILLAGE AND PREVIOUS CROP ON BIOMETRIC FEATURES, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND YIELD OF WINTER WHEAT CULTIVAR ‘Kobra Plus’
Journal Title: Folia Pomeranae Universitatis Technologiae Stetinensis Agricultura Alimentaria Piscaria et Zootechnica - Year 2017, Vol 41, Issue 332
Abstract
The study was conducted in the years 2006–2008, in a static experiment founded in 1993 in the Agricultural Experimental Station Lipnik (near Stargard Szczeciński). The station is located in the central part of the Szczecin Lowland (ϕ 53021`N, λ 14058`E, Hs 30 m.a.s.l.). Field tests were carried out using winter wheat grown in four-field crop rotation (sugar beet – winter wheat – faba beans – winter wheat + white mustard intercrop). The effect of simplified tillage involving the elimination of plowing for the plowless tillage and direct sowing was examined, as compared to conventional tillage under crops grown in rotation. Studied factor consisted of the farming systems used for winter wheat after different forecrops (faba beans, sugar beet). The tillage systems significantly shaped the length of the stalk and leaf assimilation index (LAI). Winter wheat grown in the field after faba bean had significantly higher values of total number of steam and, with ears, the length of stalk and spike, as well as the ratio of leaf greenness (SPAD). In our study, there was no the effect of experimental factors and their interaction on grain yield of winter wheat. Regardless of tested experimental factors, winter wheat yielded at the level of 5 t ∙ ha–1. A slight tendency to higher yields was recorded for the traditional plowing system.

PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY AND THE INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION OF WHEY
Whey is a by-product of dairy industry obtained during cheese and casein production. Despite the low dry matter content, whey is a valuable by-product in terms of functional and nutritional properties and it has high pot...
VARIABILITY OF THE INCIDENCE OF Fusarium SPECIES AND MYCOTOXINS IN THE GRAIN OF WHEAT, DEPENDING ON SOIL TILLAGE SYSTEM AND CULTIVAR
The aim of the present work was to analyse the variability of the incidence of Fusarium species and mycotoxins in the grain of wheat, depending on wheat cultivar and soil tillage system. The experimental factors included...
CAUSES FOR CULLING AND REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM DISORDERS IN JERSEY COWS IN THE REPRODUCTIVE PERIOD
The aim of this study was to analyse culling causes and determine reproductive health disorders in Jersey cows in the reproduction period in a herd from the Wielkopolska region. Analyses were conducted on 331 Jersey cows...
