RE-CLASSIFICATION OF THE NEGLECTED VARIABLE V480 AQL
Journal Title: Odessa Astronomical Publications - Year 2014, Vol 27, Issue 2
Abstract
We present the results of multicoloured photometric study of previously neglected variable star V480 Aql. Our V RI observations prove that this star belongs to classical Cepheids with the period of P = 19d.0016. We also propose an empirical dependence between colour indices and temperature of supergiants, which, according to the nature of Cepheids, enabled us to determine minimum and maximum temperatures of V480 Aql.

SIMULTANEOUS MAGNETIC FIELD MEASUREMENTS IN SUNSPOTS USING SPECTRAL LINES WITH DIFFERENT LANDE FACTORS
We present magnetic field measurements in several sunspots observed in June-July 2015 on Horizontal Solar Telescope ATsU-5 of Main Astronomical Observatory of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The Zeeman splitting...
LIMIT VALUES AS AN UNIVERSAL METHOD OF DESCRIPTION OF PHYSICAL REALITY
There are two main forms of cognition of Nature: empiric knowledge obtained from the experience, and theory as system of ideas and principles. Each of the two forms uses its own methods. While empirics or phenomenology i...
THE LHC AND THE DISCOVERY OF THE HIGGS BOSON:50 YEARS OF HIGGS MECHANISM
We describe briefly the ATLAS detector and some of the physics results on QCD, top physics and. the Higgs boson discovery that lead to the Nobel Prize of Physics in 2013. We finish the short report by a new method to loo...
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR RELATIVE WAVELENGTH INDEPENDENCE OF IR LAGS IN NGC 4151 OVER THE PAST DECADE
We present results of a study of the correlation between the infrared (JHKL) and optical (B) fluxes of the nucleus of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 4151 for the years 2010–2015 using our own data (partially published) in combina...
LUMINOSITY-LINEAR SIZE RELATION FOR GALAXIES AND QUASARS WITH STEEP RADIO SPECTRUM
Our data for sources with steep radio spectrum, detected with radio telescope UTR-2 at the decametre band give evidence on the great luminosities, linear sizes, characteristic ages of these objects. In connection with su...
