Reallocation of rock stresses within a block separated in the decorative stone quarries

Abstract

The paper discusses creating of zonal technological micro cracks that are the result of the redistribution of the natural stress state of the array as a result of the partial blocks of the recess. This is a natural process caused by the unloading and its elimination is completely impossible, but it can be controlled. The analysis of the changes of stress-strain state on the ledge of career in the process of block stone recess is held. Experimental and theoretical studies of the impact of natural and artificial stress concentrators (microcracks) in a sample of rock on the distribution of stresses in the angular area the block are conducted. To simulate this process, the combination of the classic mathematical apparatus of mechanics of continuum fracture criterion with the H.Neuber fracture criterion for zones on the ledge of a career that will accurately describe the formation of cracks in angular zones was proposed. This will allow to regulate and to reduce the stress level in the relevant areas with technological methods, thereby improving the quality of facing products
