Reconstruction of Ukrainian crisis in English news stories: verbalizing compulsion

Abstract
The article reveals that the reconstruction of Ukrainian crisis in English news stories rests on the preconceptual gestalts for force with compulsion occupying a salient place among them since it reflects the stimulation of opposing sides to resolving the crisis at the local, national, cross-national, supernational and international levels. It is found that the use of the linguistic units reflects four types of compulsion: general, concrete, communicative and sanctional.
