Reduction of acute anterior shoulder dislocation under local anesthesia. A case study of 35 patients.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the injection of local anesthesia in the shoulder joint for reduction of anterior shoulder dislocations. Material and Method: All patients with anterior dislocation of shoulder without any fracture coming to our hospital between Jan-2015 to July-2017 were included in the study and were reduced under local anesthesia injected in the shoulder joint. Results: A total of 35 patients were included in this study. 33 patients were reduced with this method and only 2 patients required reduction under general anesthesia. Conclusion: This method is safe and effective for reduction of anterior dislocations of shoulder and reduces the patient anxiety during reduction maneuver as compared to other methods of reduction.
