Abstract
Cehegin is a town that can boast a long history. Since the Catholic Monarchs recognized the first census of noblemen, the great stately mansions made by great artisans multiplied. This caused that the town was filled with heraldic shields and that lands passed from father to son without exception with good resources for agricultura but still could not get out of economic ruin. In this context, Dr. Mas y Soler, a doctor an humanist who will help introduce militant liberalism and other invigorating influences, comes to Cehegin.
