Reflection of the Cult of Achilles in numismatic artefacts

Abstract
Based on archaeology’s and linguistics’ data the assumption is made that cast coins-«arrows» represent coins-«spears» and are the attribute of the earliest stage of development of an Achill’s cult in the Northern Black Sea region. During the circulation of these coins (in the middle of VI century – beginning of V century BC) acted Achilles sanctuary at Cape Beykush, where the cult had considerable local features. Coins-«arrows» (or rather, coins-«spears») disappear together with the termination of existence of this sanctuary.
