Reflection on the Therapeutic Aspects of the Literary Work of Children in Early School Age

Abstract
The main objective of the presented research is to determine the therapeutic aspects of the literary work of children at early school age. In the initial part of the article we describe some selected theoretical considerations focused on the issue of human creativity, its role in the process of self-creation and its therapeutic dimension. The research was conducted using a method of individual cases, which is a variation of the biographical method. In the research, techniques of interview and the analysis of personal documents was used. The research tool in the interview technique was a questionnaire with open questions addressed to Anna – a student-ending third grade of primary school. The object of the analysis of documents was her literary work, which included a collection of poems created during the period of the first stage of school education. The collected and analyzed research material shows that Anna’s poetry has many different therapeutic values, it enriches her life and also strengthens her self-confidence.
