Reflections about the problematics associated to the tourist development in the bonaerense marine coast: landscape, land and work

Journal Title: Revista de Estudios Marítimos y Sociales - Year 2009, Vol 2, Issue 2

Abstract

The bonaerense maritime littoral is the sector of biggest attraction to tourists in the country. The cities and towns there were founded to satisfy the demand of leisure spaces. From the end of the nineteenth century to the beginnings of the twenty-frst century, the logic than impels the tourist development has not changed in essence, but habits, fashions, and in the political, economic and cultural context. The model of tourist development built in this territory is based on the natural landscape exploitation, and in his urbanization, the land commercialization, the socio-territorial fragmentation and the temporal work. To analyze each one of those characteristics-problematics of the model of development from a geographical approach is the most important objective in this work. For this purpose, statistical data were analyzed; interviews, reports and approaches were gotten up; and a theoretical-critical approach was incorporated to the tourist one.
