REFLEXÕES SOBRE OS MOVIMENTOS SOCIAIS LATINOAMERICANOS E A EDUCAÇÃO ESCOLAR

Abstract
This text, based on the development of the Latin American continent and the experience of struggle and resistance, is an attempt to reflect on social movements, school education and worker education. Based on the experience of the Landless People Movement, it also discusses a few essential aspects of school education that currently currently serve the interests of the workers and the perspective of human emancipation. For this purpose it looks at authors such as Galeano (2011); Saviani (1996; 2000); Manacorda (1996); Freitas (2004); and Fernandes (2009). It is concluded that to know education in Latin America, both from the hegemonic and counter-hegemonic/counter internalization perspective requires establishing relations between the project of society, development model, education model and school project, acknowledging that the workers’ Social Movements historically have had an important role in the processes.
