Reforming of historical education and motivation of profession choice

Abstract
The article is devoted to clarify what motivates the graduates of educational institutions to choose the historical profession, what is happening in the context of the reform of history teaching in Ukraine. It is shown that the choice of future profession is one of the important steps in human life. With proper selection of the individual characteristics of the adolescent coincide with the requirements of the profession. Sustainability focus to the historical profession is primarily due to the recognition of the needs of the profession of public importance and personal self-improvement. This should correspond to the needs and strategy of transformation of history education in the conditions of reforming the higher education system in Ukraine. Followed the evolution of historical education in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. In Ukraine the launch of historical education related to the development of the system of higher education institutions that have formed educational units (faculties, departments), which introduced historical knowledge. Analyzed the formation of historical education of universities in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk. During Soviet times there was a fundamental reorganization of historical education, universities and educational institutions were opened historical faculties. Tangible impetus to the modernization of historical education in modern Ukraine has made reform of European historical education in the late XX – early XXI century on the basis of mutual respect and tolerance for diverse cultures, freedom from political and ideological influences. In Ukraine, the construction of their own history is seen as a fundamental need of society in the context of their own identity, an important national task. Empirically it is proven that stand out are among the main reasons for the choice of the historical profession applicants 2016: passion since childhood, the prestige of the profession in society, the ability to be creative, as well as the advice of friends, acquaintances, teachers, and family traditions. That is, high school graduates, choosing the historical profession, clearly aware of the social significance of this profession, it promote personal development
