Rehabilitacja kardiologiczna czynnikiem poprawy jakości życia chorych po przebytym zawale mięśnia sercowego

Abstract

Introduction. Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most serious health problems of the contemporary world contributing to disability and premature death. A history of myocardial infarction for most patients is a situation which seriously affects their further life and that of their loved ones. Properly implemented cardiac rehabilitation brings significant benefits. It contributes to lifestyle modification, promoting physical activity, giving up drugs, weight loss, change in eating habits. Aim. The aim of the research is to understand and analyze the impact of cardiac rehabilitation on the quality of life of patients after myocardial infarction. Material and methods. The study was conducted in the District Hospital in Inowrocław. It included 100 patients after myocardial infarction. The test used diagnostic survey method applying a questionnaire of our own design. Results. Our findings revealed that cardiac rehabilitation resulted in a significant increase of people with an active lifestyle, which positively affects patients’ quality of life. Conclusions. 1. The state of knowledge of patients after myocardial infarction on cardiac rehabilitation depends significantly on the level of education of the respondents. 2. The use of specialist support in patients after myocardial infarction depends significantly on the place of residence of the respondents. 3. The benefits of cardiac rehabilitation in patients after myocardial infarction depend significantly on its duration. 4. The material situation of patients after myocardial infarction implementing rehabilitation program is significantly conditioned on their financial status. 5. Following appropriate diet by patients after myocardial infarction depends significantly on the financial status. The least wealthy group of patients in their vast majority do not apply a proper diet or have strong difficulties with the its implementation.
