Relation between Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Ethics in the Field of Behaviour

Abstract
In spite of all their differences and similarities, "jurisprudence" and "ethics" have the same objective in the field of behaviours. It is evident that jurisprudence is valuable if its rules are actualized. The reason behind existence of jurisprudence and ethics is to bring man to happiness and perfection; one of them provides forms and the other presents content. In other words, the subject of jurisprudence is forms of acts and the subject of ethics is their contents. Jurisprudence specifies man's obligation to attain true happiness and perfection in terms of appearance of acts, and ethics explain the essence of those apparent behaviours in terms of their impacts on the interior. Ethics is aimed to build the universal man, for it discusses preservation of [the self of] man and its orientation so that it may assign sacredness and chastity to the spirit and take man out of nature's mud and bring him to the heaven. In jurisprudence, the same goal is discussed from a different perspective. Worships are legislated to bring man close to God and this is not possible unless through the same conditions noted in jurisprudence.
