Relationship problem solving skills and students in secondary schools 2 area of the city of Tabriz

Abstract

This study is performed on the relationship between students’ problem-solving skills and their self-regulation in the secondary schools in 2nd district of Tabriz Town by descriptive-correlational research method. The population includes all students of secondary schools in 2nd district of Tabriz town (9139 students). Its sample size was estimated 370 persons based on Morgan’s table and they were selected by stratified random sampling method. Self-regulation Questionnaire and Cassidy & Long Problem Solving Style Questionnaire were used to collect data. The data was analyzed by the use of SPSS software, Spearman’s correlation test and stepwise regression. The results of statistical tests show that there is an inverse and significant relationship between the problem-solving skills of students and their self-regulation in secondary schools in 2nd district of Tabriz Town.
