A study of the impact of psychological contracts on employees’ motivation in ICT offices in Shiraz

Abstract
Human resource cannot always be predicted based on economic calculations and there are multiple other factors that are originated in supreme human needs in social aspects and self-discovery aspect which have effects in this regard. One of these factors is employees’ motivation which is especially important and sensitive because when job satisfaction and motivation do not take precedence over other objectives, the organization will fail. Motivation has impact on both the individual and the organization. On one hand, the individual joins the organization with some wants and wishes and the coordination and consistency of these two create motivation in the individual and the motivation in turn results in creativity and innovation in work and increase of individual’s commitment and effectiveness. And on the other hand, during the process by which the individual gains work motivation, the organization becomes dynamic and gets close to its objectives. Psychological contracts have an important role in organizational relations. These contracts express the bases for individuals’ behavior and the organization’s activities. Development of psychological contract may have a negative effect on mutual relations and one of the things that are impacted by this is employees’ motivation which needs to be studied. This study explores the impact of psychological contracts on employees’ motivations in ICT (information and communications technology) offices in city of Shiraz. The population of this study is consisted of employees of ICT offices in Shiraz. In terms of objective, the research method is applied. In this study the relationship between the variables and the level of impact have been explored by descriptive method of causal type. Data analysis is done using SPSS and LISREL.
