RELEVANCE OF THE HUMBOLDT’S UNIVERSITY CONCEPT AND ITS PLACE IN THE MODERN SYSTEM OF UKRAINIAN UNIVERSITY EDUCATION

Abstract
The article conceals the university concept of German scholars V. von Humboldt and his associate F. Schleiermacher. This concept is an object of modern historical and pedagogical research, but against the backdrop of reforming the Germany higher education system some representatives of modern German university circles call for its resuscitation. The author points out, that a detailed study of this concept, which was created by Humboldt and Schleiermacher in the Enlightenment epoch, demonstrates the unchanging significance of their ideas, the theoretical and practical relevance of the basic principle of university autonomy, which underlies the postulates formulated at the beginning of the 19th century. The concept of university autonomy contributed to the global spread of the German university model and can be taken into account in the course of the transfor- mations that take place at Ukrainian universities.
