Relevant Context Discovery for Pervasive Services Involving User Control
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2009, Vol 50, Issue 2
Abstract
Dynamic context adaptation is a central concept in Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing. In this paper we have analyzed the problem of context relevance and we have chosen an approach where the user is also involved also in the relevance control. The advantage of involving the user is motivated by the fact that a completely automatic context management cannot deal with unpredicted situations. The proposed solution was implemented on the top of WComp middleware. An easy to use interface let the user the possibility to easily manage its context.

A Novel End-To-End QoS Framework Over Heterogeneous Networks - An Architectural Approach
End-to-end QoS (Quality of Service) provisioning over heterogeneous networks is a major challenge. The poor communication between Service Providers, the increasing complexity of the supported services, the need for fulfi...
Performance Analysis of Network Coding-Based Cooperation Algorithms Employed in Cellular Networks
The employment of the network coding, combined with distributed FEC coding, in cooperative transmission schemes leads to a more efficient use of the additional time-frequency resources required by cooperation, i.e. by al...
An Experimental Analysis Of Signal Reflections On Printed Circuit Board Transmission Lines
Signal reflections for several digital integrated circuit families are experimentally analyzed by using high-speed time domain measurements. Four test setups are designed and fabricated - the interconnect lines have diff...
Human Visual Perception Concepts As Mechanisms For Saliency Detection
Predicting human eye fixations is a difficult task that usually involves complex knowledge about the human visual perception pathways. This paper proposes a method to detect salient locations using a psycho visual space...
Decisions Tools In Signal Processing: A Stochastic Dominance Perspective
The aim of this paper is to provide an implementation of a stochastic dominance algorithm that establish which of the two distributions is preferred by individuals who have an aversive risk profile. Although, this topic...
