RELIGIONS OF ANCIENT EGYPT - THROUGH THE ANCIENT GREEKS` EYES: HERODOTUS AND STRABO

Abstract
In the context of the article the question of the formation of the ancient Greeks vision for the religion of ancient Egypt is considered. After analyzing the texts of well-known Greek researchers and philosophers, the author concludes that their understanding of the religion of ancient Egypt was formed through the prism of their own religious consciousness. This fact, as well as the following analysis of the sources and factors that have influenced the formation of such a view, will help to establish in the further study the validity or fallacy of the generally accepted historical concept of the religions of ancient Egypt.
