RESEARCH AND INNOVATION PREPARING OF FUTURE PROFESSIONALS OF NATURAL SCIENCES: BACKGROUND, STATE, PROBLEMS, PERSPECTIVES

Abstract
Article defi nes the place of natural sciences in the general system of sciences and their role in the development of human civilization. The analysis of statistical data on the current state of higher education in Ukraine has shown that natural sciences are in the fi fth place by the number of students who master them. The percentage of students of the natural profi le in the postgraduate study is almost three times higher than in baccalaureate and magistracy. Data about university entrance and graduation showed that the percentage of natural science students who entered the fi rst and third levels of higher education in comparison with the percentage of graduates of these levels decreased by 1.6 times; on the second one – in 1,4 times, and about 40% of graduates of natural scien ces receiving a bachelor’s degree did not continue to study according to this profi le. The conducted studies have shown a further decrease in the popularity of natural sciences among entrants of all levels of higher education with the simultaneous increase in demand for natural science scientists around the world. The prospects of research and innovation preparing of specialists in natural sciences as the main intellectual resource of innovation development are determined.
