Research of Fragmentation of Dynamic Compressed Samples Made of Composites Cu-W-BNα

Abstract

Research of the compression impact test of samples made of sintered cermets Cu-W-BNα with different contents of ceramics phase namely 0,5; 1, 1,5 i 3% (wt.) have been presented in this paper. The compression test were carried out using modified Charpy machine. The velocity of impact was 5.5 m/s and value of the kinetic energy of ram was 281,82 J. Recovered after compression tests fragments of damaged samples were subjected to a sieve analysis. The mass of particles distribution and number of particles distribution for size particle fraction were determined. On the basis of obtained results. It was found that is dependence between contents of boron nitride and particles size distribution. Increase of BN contents cause increase of the smallest particle number in investigated materials.
