RESEARCH OF THE INNOVATION ACTIVITY OF THE INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE

Abstract
Innovation activity as a way of achieving competitiveness does not have any alternatives. It’s typical for Ukraine to have small amount of active innovative enterprises.Studying the conditions of enterprises’ activity allows us to claim that there aren’t enough advanced technologies in Ukraine due to lack of effective mechanisms to stimulate the innovative development. The structure’s analysis of the innovative activity’s funding sources has showed that the main source is one's own funds (in 1990’s mainly obtained funds). The main problem is that the round sum of funds is sent by domestic enterprises on extensive development, such as: support of the outdated material and technical base, acquisition and repair of the equipment and software (seldom, 63 %). On the basis of the fact that enterprises’ expenses on the innovation activity are limited and their share for research, development and acquisition of external knowledge makes up 12 and 2% accordingly, we can’t say anything about the modernization of separate enterprises and economy as a whole. Even so the main efforts of enterprises’ managers are directed towards the search for investors, who would provide all necessary resources to buy new techniques (technology). Awareness of these tendencies has to initiate the work, directed at the intensification of the country’s function to accumulate internal resources and to direct them at the renewal of the technological base of the Ukrainian economy, at the search for corresponding external financial resources. The improvement of state management in the sphere of innovation activity must improve its normative base, provide the highest level of financing the innovative developments, and form the necessary infrastructure.
