Resolution Improvement of Ultrasound Images Using Deconvolution and Super-Resolution Algorithms
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2011, Vol 52, Issue 4
Abstract
Ultrasound imaging is a wide spread technique used to view body soft tissues, like tendons, muscle or internal organs for possible problems. These images are achieved by capturing the returned acoustic waves using an ultrasonic transducer. Due to the propagation in imperfect environment, the resolution of these images has a poor quality. This is caused by different problems like waves refraction, attenuations in tissues, destructive waves, bad contacts, and so on. This paper intends to achieve a preliminary synthesis of the most important directions of study for the resolution improvement. We present two important methods for ultrasound image processing: deconvolution based and super-resolution algorithms. Some simulation results are also delivered.

An Affordable Approach For Extending The SDR Concept Over X Microwaves Radio Band
In this paper several technical solutions are proposed to extend SDR technology to X microwave band, at low cost. This extension requires a hardware combination of modules, most of them readily available on market from c...
NOAA Signal Decoding And Image Processing Using GNU-Radio
The paper presents several technical issues and software implementations proposed in order to decode, process, and render images received from NOAA satellites. NOAA satellites are seeking extreme weather events on Earth....
Exploring Fine Phonetic Detail for Romanian Text to Speech Synthesis
This paper presents several experimental results on the study of Fine Phonetic Detail (FPD) in order to create the basis of a computational model for prosody description in a system for Text To Speech (TTS) synthesis. Di...
Bearing Defects Signals Demodulation Using Shock Filters
A fundamental problem in the development of faults detection and diagnoses methods is to obtain fault signature data as clear as is possible. This article is focused on vibration signals generated by rolling bearings wit...
Acoustic Echo Cancellation Using Wavelet Transform And Adaptive Filters
The paper proposes a new method for acoustic echo cancellation(AEC), in order to improve the performances of the normalized least-mean-square (NLMS) and non-parametric variable- step -size-NLMS (NPVSS-NLMS) algorithms. T...
