Journal Title: Trilogía Ciencia Tecnología Sociedad - Year 2019, Vol 11, Issue 20
Abstract
The objective of this review article is to analyze moral responsibility regarding environmental damage caused by the use of technological resources during the armed conflict in Colombia. First, concepts related to the principle of autonomy, agency, and morale are defined and described applying concept of the responsibility of the moral agent based on elements of the Kantian theory. Afterward, the function of the moral agent derived from agency is determined; the objective is to establish decisive conceptual elements to understand and interpret the origins of the moral agent as an influential and dynamizing element in the problem under discussion. Finally, the criteria of the responsibility of the moral agent and the jurisprudential decisions of the Colombian government regarding environmental damage were compared. The objective was to identify legal elements that transform the moral agent into socially responsible for the alteration of different ecosystems and natural environments. For this purpose, a qualitative method was adopted by means of a comparative review of the available literature. Finally, the results (definition, description, and analysis of the problem situation) were articulated with the general objectivity proposed by the author.
