Result Of Pre Contoured Distal Tibial Locking Plates In Distal Tibial Fractures By Minimal Invasive Technique
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Traumatology & Surgical Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Distal diametaphyseal tibia fractures poses a challenge for orthopaedic surgeons to treat these fractures. Most of the distal tibial fractures are not suitable for intramedullary nailing and usually require open reduction and fixation with plating. Treatment of these injuries using minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) techniques may minimise soft tissue injury and damage to the vascular integrity of the fracture fragments which gets disturbed with open reduction. Twenty patients with closed distal diametaphyseal tibial fractures are treated with MIPO technique with pre contoured distal tibial locking plates to assess the results.

Comparative Study Of Tourniquet V/S Tranexamic Acid Use On Blood Loss In Total Knee Arthroplasty
Context: Total knee replacement (TKR) is often carried out using a tourniquet to minimize intraoperative blood loss. However, its application enhances local fibrinolysis, resulting in excessive blood loss during the post...
Radiographic Morphometry Of Distal End Of Radius, A Retrospective, Observational Study In Indian Population
Background: Distal end of radius fracture is a common fracture due to fall on outstretched hand (15 per 100 fracture patients). Reduction of this fracture is generally assessed by four morphometric measurements of the di...
Comparison Of Intra Medullary Locking Nail And Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis By LCP In Treatment Of Distal Tibial Fractures –Prospective Study
Because of sub cutaneous location and proximity to ankle joint, distal tibial fracture pose a significant challenge to Orthopedics surgeon and cannot be managed by following simple set of rules. With the advent of newer...
Minimal Invasive Dynamic Hip Screw Versus Proximal Femoral Nailing In Treatment Of Inter-Trochanteric Fractures- A Comparative Study
Background: Inter-trochanteric fractures can be managed efficiently by fixation with Proximal femoral nail (PFN) which is intramedullary and has advantages like maintaining controlled impaction, lower rates of implant fa...
Surgical Reconstruction Of Non Union Patella And Neglected Patellar Tendon Rupture With Semitendinosus Graft – A Prospective Study
Background: Non-union of patella and neglected patellar tendon rupture cause significant disability due to disruption in extensor mechanism of knee. Reconstruction attempted months or years later is prone to unsatisfac...
