După prezentarea principalelor caracteristici, cercetarea se orientează către analiza nivelului de pregătire a resursei potenţiale, evaluarea utilizării timpului de muncă, activităţile atipice şi secundare, populaţia ocupată, respectiv descurajată, distribuţia regională a populaţiei active.
